Wellness Visits

These all too often overlooked visits are one of the best gifts you can give your pet! Our pets are fantastic at camouflaging disease. During this visit I will give your pet a thorough physical examination. This is a great opportunity to check your pet’s mouth for dental disease, listen to their heart and lungs, feel their lymph nodes and examine their eyes and ears. Wellness visits should be done every 9-12 months.

Vaccinations

There are many differing opinions about vaccinations and pets. In our visit we can discuss the benefits and risks of each vaccine. I can present all the information and you can make an informed decision for your pet. I generally do not recommend giving more than one vaccine per visit. All decisions regarding vaccinations will be respected.

Lab Work

Routine lab work can help detect disease in your pet before there are any symptoms. Regular monitoring of liver, kidney and thyroid function can be valuable tools to keep your pet healthy. We can get blood from your pet in the comfort of your home.

Acupuncture

This is an ancient treatment method involving the insertion of hair thin needles into specific points around the body. Acupuncture is generally painless and can benefit many health conditions including arthritis, injuries, anxiety, kidney and liver disease, and neurological disorders.

Acupuncture sessions are generally 20-30 minutes and results may take 1-3 sessions to be seen. The majority of patients enjoy acupuncture.

Laser Therapy

This modality can help speed healing and reduce inflammation. Laser therapy can reduce pain associated with injury and arthritis.

Nutritional Counseling

Nutrition can be the most confusing and overwhelming part of caring for your animal. I can help you choose a raw, home cooked or commercial diet that fits your pet’s needs, your lifestyle and your budget. Custom made diets are also available by request.

Physical Therapy

Yes! Pets need physical therapy too! Exercises and manual therapy can help dogs and cats recover from injuries and degenerative disease. If you pet has had surgery, consider using physical therapy to help ensure they heal quickly.

Chinese Herbal Therapy

Herbal therapies are often referred to as acupuncture in a bottle. These formulas can help assist the body in fighting inflammation and restore balance. Most herbal formulas come in powder, tablets or liquid.
