HempRx Feline (Rx Vitamins for Pets) is a professional veterinary formula of medical CBD for support of the endocannabinoid system in cats. The endocannabinoid system helps to balance and protect the nervous system and every organ in the body, including the skin and gut. HempRx Feline contains a total of 450 mg of Phyto-Cannabinoids per bottle and provides 1 mg naturally occurring CBD per drop.

What is Cannabis Oil?
Cannabis oil is derived from the marijuana plant, which contains 80 different cannabinoids, including THC (the psycoactive component) and CBD (cannabidiol – the medical component). Cannabis oil has no psychoactive effect on cats when dosed properly because there is little to no THC.
Cannabis oil can be used to treat a range of disorders, including seizures, nausea, stress, anxiety, arthritic and back pain, symptoms of cancer and gastrointestinal issues.
The cannabinoids in marijuana interact with the endocannabinoid receptors in the body and modulate symptoms of pain, anxiety and nausea. Medical cannabis has no life-threatening side effects with proper dosing, and does no harm to the kidney, liver or GI tract.
Ongoing research in veterinary pharmacology is showing medical cannabis can have positive benefits for dogs and cats. Clinical trials have yet to be done to determine accurate dosing recommendations. The dosages below are guidelines only and have not been substantiated or proven with clinical research.

CBD and THC are both medicinal components of the cannabis plant. THC causes a ‘high’ and CBD does not.
These are both the same plant but differ in the levels of THC and CBD present. Hemp products are from cannabis plants that have very low levels of THC and high levels of CBD. Marijuana products are from cannabis plants that have higher levels of THC.
Both products contain less than 0.3% of THC. This means that neither product will cause a high in your pet.
Both products are generally well tolerated in cats and dogs. As with any supplement taken orally, digestive upset is possible in the form of vomiting or diarrhea. Please consult your veterinarian before adding any supplement to your pet’s diet.

We had been struggling with our two older cats: trying to keep Alexei, 19, comfortable despite renal failure and arthritis in his back legs. More urgently, though, is our battle to help our 13-year-old rescue, Magilla, beat her severe IBD. My vet knew almost nothing about CBD and here I was in New York City and had no one to ask.
