What is Cannabis Oil?

Cannabis oil is derived from the marijuana plant, which contains 80 different cannabinoids, including THC (the psycoactive component) and CBD (cannabidiol – the medical component). Cannabis oil has no psychoactive effect on dogs when dosed properly because there is little to no THC.

Cannabis oil can be used to treat a range of disorders, including seizures, nausea, stress, anxiety, arthritic and back pain, symptoms of cancer and gastrointestinal issues.

The cannabinoids in marijuana interact with the endocannabinoid receptors in the body and modulate symptoms of pain, anxiety and nausea. Medical cannabis has no life-threatening side effects with proper dosing, and does no harm to the kidney, liver or GI tract.

Ongoing research in veterinary pharmacology is showing medical cannabis can have positive benefits for dogs and cats. Clinical trials have yet to be done to determine accurate dosing recommendations. The dosages below are guidelines only and have not been substantiated or proven with clinical research.

Terpenes and phytocannabinoids

Terpenes and phytocannabinoids can help to harmonize the endocannabinoid system which is found in all animals, great and small. Recently discovered in the mid-1990s, the endocannabinoid system helps to balance and protect the nervous system and every organ in the body including the skin and gut. Studies have found that the body needs only very small amounts of these plant molecules to benefit the endocannabinoid system which is why these softchewz work so well.

These HempRx SoftChewz are shaped into little hearts, and your cats and small dogs will love their chicken liver natural flavor.

"Without the chews we never would have survived intact..."

Leia is not the only baby in the house. We have three kids, who desperately wanted a snuggly cat. We had one of the cuddliest cats in the world who passed a few years ago at 19 yrs. We hesitated because my youngest daughter had a liver disease which came with a host of other issues such as bleeding disorder (a concern with a scratching cat), but we gave in.

Well, Leia was far from snuggly and we worked for over a year on the right combo of meds and behavior sessions. During that time my daughter received a liver transplant and three months ago, passed away just before her and her twin would turn 9. Well, while the family was in shambles, Leia did well. She held up and actually improved.

She still has her occasional epsiodes, which we are working on, but for the most part, she can self regulate her mood and we keep her plenty busy with learning new things (she’s super smart.) She has started sitting with someone other than me so the kids are getting a better relationship. It’s a lot of hard work, determination and the CBD as part of the routine.

I have no doubt that without the chews we never would have survived intact this last summer. And the relationship with Leia is one that is invaluable.

"The vet is in awe...This could be the thing that props her up enough to get through the worst of the treatment."

I just wanted to thank you for making these hemp cat treats available! My 14yr old cat has lymphoma and had lost a ton of weight since getting sick. The chemo treatment was making matters worse but she’s gained back 1 lb. since starting the treats just a few weeks ago and she seems to be generally feeling better too. I am hoping for more improvements in the coming weeks. This could be the thing that props her up enough to get through the worst of the treatment. The vet is in awe and has been fully supportive of trying it. I will let you know if we need any additional guidance.

MANY THANKS!

F.T.
